On1March2015,Channel4confirmedthatIndianSummerswouldreturnforasecondandfinalseriesin2016,starringnewcastmembersincludingArtMalikandAcademyAwardnominatedRachelGriffiths.ThefirstepisodeairedonSunday13March2016.The10-partseriesreturnstoSimlainthesummerof1935,threeyearsaftertheeventsofthefirstseries.PaulRutman,creatorandwriteroftheseries,said:"Ourstorymovesforwardthreeyears,toaViceroy’slastsummer,apoliticalgambletostifleIndependenceandagreatreckoningforRalph,AliceandAafrin."
